For those of you who didn't get your FG dresses through a bridal salon and more or less in a children's dress shop or elsewhere, where did you look? I want a very very very very simple white dress with NO poufs or frills. I don't want the FG's to look like mini-Scarlett O-Hara's. I don't like appliques or rhinestones either.

I looked there but it was very hard to tell the quality of the fabric. I don't want anything irredescent(sp). I want plain and satin or crepe if possible.

dept stores dont have what you want?
i havent been in there in ages, but there's this store in merrick on merrick rd called calliope and they have (or had) dressy dresses for young girls....

Its not that, It is just that I hadn't started to look yet and we really do not want to order from a salon due to time constraints and persoanl finances. I won't have my friends spend as much on a FG dress as they would on their own for the little lady to wear once and possibly have an accident. IMO it isnt necessary. As it is, they are each clothing themselves and two children for the wedding. I have a heart!

Maybe look for a communion style dress. They are less frilly. Try major departmernt stores like Saks and Bloomies!

Have you tried Sears or JC Penny around First Communtion time or Easter?
Ooops never mind you will be married by then. Hmmm.... But actually since your wedding is right before that time they may have thoses dresses out by then. If they start doing Halloween in August, Easter In Feburay isn't too far off. Contact local deparment stores and ask when they will have thoses dresses out.

Ok... There is a place on Jericho Tpk, in Mineola... and they only sell lil girl dresses... I have never been there but I see the dresses in the windows all the time...
If you go down Jericho from like flowers by Brian, until herricks rd (near pedestals) I think it is in between there... It is on the right hand side going west.. It used to be Right across the st from Chaminade High school... but for some reason I think it moved like down the block...
I know this is maybe, could be, just information... But give it a shot... I think they only sell lil girls dresses...

We got this dress at The Briar Patch. Their mom & I were both hesitant about ordering online but sooo many LIW brides had good reviews about them. The dresses came in exactly 10 days as promised and were perfect!! As soon as I find a picture of the girls in them I'll post it
I'm not sure where you live at, and if you would travel to queens just for a dress, but if you go on Jamaica Avenue, they have sooo many little stores that sells simple white dresses for little girls at good prices
