FG questions - please help!

Ok, so I finally chose my flower girl and ring bearer...it will be my old bosses children, whom FH and I babysit every so often....(we like to play house...hehe)...anyway, they are absolutely adorable...I can't wait to have them in our wedding!!

The flower girl will be almost three years old at our wedding...when should I contact the mom about dresses? Kids grow like weeds at this age, so how far in advance can they really buy an outfit? DO I contact her and offer suggestions as to dresses, or is it customary that the mother of the FG picks the dress out and buys it? I am so clueless....

Also, besides the dress, and the FG basket, is there anything that I'm missing when it comes to involving the Flowergirl and the ringbearer in the wedding (he already has a suit that he is going to wear)...?? They obviously show up at the rehearsal, right...anything else I am forgetting?

I would get the dresses around 3-4months before. Kids won't grow that much in that time period.

The only thing you need for the FG is a dress, hair appt (If she is getting that), shoes, hair piece (If she is getting that.) and a Basket with petals.

I might be getting flowers in the girls hair at my wedding. If you decide to do that, you may want to talk to your florist.

Also, I intend to get my FG's presents to be given out at the rehearsal dinner, (Which your FG should come to with her parents).

Call the dress shop you are using to confirm how long it would take for the dress to come in.

You should probably talk to the mom now & let her know you will deal with the dress a few months before the wedding. You can decide if you want to just tell her a color & let her get it, or if you want to get it, or if you want to get it together.
For a gift, you may want to get something liek jewelery or a jewelery box, or a litle figurine, but then also get a little something like a stuffed animal that she will aprreciate now.
