We are using Aerosmith's Don't Want To Miss A Thing.


Its beautiful, its semi modern but its still a song you know you will hear on the radio years from now, and it has a good beat to dance to.

we r in the same boat our song is Can't Help Falling In Love” (Elvis Presley) but the past 3 weddings we went to was that song and fh asked if we could consider other songs.

Originally FH and I wanted 'in my life' by Dave Matthews (Beatles cover). but its a live version and you can hear some clapping which I dont like. I dont like the beatles so that version is out

Then we were thinking about 'hold you in my arms' by Ray Lamontagne...I am just not sure about it.

FH was the same way! I said 'we considered' it was more like I considered! haha! he's not into music the way I am so in the end, I just ended up picking the song. When I first heard it I cried so I knew it was the one. I told FH and he was like 'ok whatever you want'

I had trouble narrowing it down! Ultimately we're using Ever Ever After from Enchanted (Carrie Underwood) for our first dance. It's kind of my fairy tale wedding thing...I first heard the song working the premiere of the Enchanted parade when I worked for Disney and I started crying and said this is my wedding song and my best friend turned to me and said 'WHO ARE YOU MARRYING?!' and I said it doesn't matter! We're also doing an elongated last dance because my last dance I wanted to be slow but the song is only a minute and a half long, it's 'Stay' frankie valli and the temptations but probably wedding song before that right into stay.

I love I could not ask for more (Edwin McCain) which someone mentioned, I thought about Tiny Dancer(Elton John) or The Luckiest (Ben Folds). I really like Lucky (Jason Mraz) but it seems like EVERYONE uses it for cake cutting now.

We are using 'You & me' by Lifehouse.

We also considered:

Crazy Over You - 112 (This is our 'song', but he wanted something different for the wedding).

I really want 'You and Me' by lifehouse, but FH doesn't see why. He's just not music-emotional the way I am.

I also love 'Your Song' the version from Moulin Rouge but he thought it was way too cheesy and weird since he's used to the Elton John version.

I've suggested 'I could not ask for more' by Edwin McCain and so far he hasn't rejected it. It just doesn't mean anything much to either of us, but the lyrics are nice.

I'm a HUGE matchbox 20 fan and would love to use one of their songs, but if you listen, they're all realllllllly not positive. All the slow ones are about heartbreak. Even Ever the Same by Rob Thomas is about his wife's battle for her life, and I've heard Marisol's story too many times to want to dance to that.

I'm going to ask FH about 'When I Look to the Sky' by Train since Train is another of my favorite bands. What a tough decision this is!

I love that song and it means alot to me cause it was our first dance.. He just shows no real excitement when I mention it
