FH and the Registry ???

Anyone else have a FH who wants absolutley NOTHING to do with the registry?? Mine doesnt at all, and I know hes a guy and its not their thing but I cant help but feel a little disappointed or let down about it, i mean this is going to be our stuff, I only really want his input on dishes and bedding, but I swear its like pulling teeth!!!!

Anyone else have this little problem? Are there any little tricks to try and get them somewhat interested at least?

Thanks girls!!!

Tough one to help with as mine was very into it and picked out a lot of what is on ours.

How about the next time he complains about something being broken or not working right or he does not like the color of something- use it as an opening to say- well honey we could ask for this or that or a new one on our gift registry

i told him we can register at Loews home improvement and he was very happy. so i'll drag him to Macy's and Bed,Bath, Beyond and he'll drag me to Loews. it's a win win solution.

My FH is actually more interested than I am because he's the cook, not me. I was most interested in china patterns.

Maybe you guys can go to lunch after registering. Food tends to spark a guy's interest. It can be like a reward for him and you can make a fun day out of it.

Mine wasn't interested at first, but when we went to the store I let him use the scanner (or as I termed it 'the gun') and he got really into it. Especially when I let him pick out one or two things.

Mine isn't interested in anything but picking the couch and a television -- he said everything else is up to me so I was thinking of registering with my mom or my sister in law, I'll make it a girls shopping day and just zap away

Re: FH and the Registry ???

my FH wanted nothing to do with researching reviews on pots/pans on amazon, looking at the store websites to tweak our registries, etc. Sometimes he would fake interest and then I'd look at him a second later and he would be asleep. However, we went back into BBB, got the gun, and added more things manually while in the store and he really enjoyed himself. If you have not gone yet, go into the store and he might enjoy it more.

He doesn't have a problem with the registry... it's getting him to go. I finally got him to go to Bed Bath & Beyond. We were near it one day and I said we should just do it to get it out of the way. We didn't even finish registering... we have to go back. And we also have to do Macys. Once he's there, he's okay, it's just getting him to go there.
