I'm going to say no!!! I'm spending approx $35,000 plus/minus with the honeymoon and that's only for 150people. So I think your fine.

I think for the amount of people you are having, that is a good price and its about average. IMO, because I'm only spending about 5000 on the HM, that your HM budget is high. But if you guys can afford that, than I'm sure you'll have a memorable HM! Think of it this way, you will be getting money at the wedding.

that sounds good to me....we're having a little more than half the people you are (we are at 175) and i think we'll end up spending 50-60 on the wedding not including honeymoon....it depends on your fininacial situation though - and how much you want to spend - everyone has a different opinion to what is to much....some people might think we are crazy - other people might think we are cheap so it depends on your situation! good luck!

the price for just the wedding sounds fantastic if you ask me.

Your honeymoon budget seems to be what's bringing your costs up a lot.

whether you are spending 'too much' is something that is totally personal to you guys. 15K is way too much for me to spend on a vacation. so for me, yea that's too much... but to other people, it's not.

We're at 180 people and we're going to be at $60k+ including the honeymoon

i get nauseous thinking about it lol I keep blaming it on FH since hes the type to say 'oh whats another $2000 more' 'oh we HAVE to have this band thats costing us half the amount of the hall' so its alllllllll his fault (i keep telling myself that anyway lol)
I think you're fine in the range you're in. but everyones opinions are different. What is too much to one might not be very much to the next person. All depends

No! I agree....Im about the same and its for 200. ppl! HM will bring it to 40.

how much is your HM costing you? is it 15K? anyway to cut a cost there if hes concerned>

i think you are doing fine.. some people may think it's too much and others may think it's just right.. i'm sure you and your FH picked all the vendors that fit and was right for you.. so don't think about it twice..

its the wedding or the HM if you don't have money for both. We are not doing a HM right away because of this. We hardly have enough money for the wedding. I think sometimes you gotta look our your finances and see what you can afford truly on both items and then fit it to that. Maybe deduct some people that your inviting or deduct some services that are a bit over budget so you can afford a good honeymoon.

15k sounds a bit pricey to me - i think 5-8k is more of a normal range for a hm and too me even that is too pricey IoI

I think that is about the ball park figure. It is insane when you actually think about it for 4 hours of your life you spent 50k but it is def. what it goes for these days! I freak out when I think about it, that is a good down payment on a house!

No! I agree....Im about the same and its for 200. ppl! HM will bring it to 40.

About the same for us--wedding will probably end up being about $40,000 for maybe 215 ppl, but our HM was only $4000, so your HM budget seems really high....we just couldn't afford to spend that much!

I was going to say the same thing. We were quoted $9,000 for what we were looking at for our first idea for our honeymoon and that was way too much for us.

Remind your FH that this is a joint venture in spending. He may be feeling guilty and overwhlemed, we all do, but he can't expect you to carry the burden alone.

Instead of getting into a shoving match with him, so to speak, let him have some time to realize he has as much control over this as you do.
