It seems to be on the average amount but it is all personal what one person thinks is expensive or can afford is completely different for someone else.

See where you cut back even just a little, it might make help him feel better.

Also break it all down -- when you see the numbers individually it doesn't seem that bad but when you see the total amount it is a lot to digest.

we are spending about 75-80k after everything is accounted for (except the honeymoon) and we are having about 120 ppl. All the extras add up--the welcome dinner, farewell brunch, the dress, shoes, hair, makeup, transportation for guests, invitations, bridal party gifts, flowers, dj, singers, oot gifts, wedding bands, etc....

Were having about 240 and ours is more...lol I wish it was 35k. Our honeymoon is only $6500 10 days in hawaii.

I am a very thrifty person (my friends can attest) and I think that's pretty good. especially with the amount of people you are having! FH is just probably getting stressed about the $$$ He p\robably would feel that way no matter how much you spent.

I think it's about average, but only you two know whether it's too much or not. If you can afford it, than $100K isn't too much.

i think that is very average. i dont think its too much at all. we are spending a lot more than that for about 75 people more than you. but i can also understand where FH is coming from. i dont think the guys really realize how much things cost. i know my FH doesnt hehe.

I think for the amount of people 35k isnt too bad...
But honestly, for me, 15k on a honeymoon is like way too much money!
If you have it, go for it....
Im cheap i guess... But my entire wedding is costing us about 12k everything included.... And the honeymoon his parents are paying for but even thats only costing about 1k.... I cant imagine spending more than that.. I want o spend less!
BUT we dont have the money for it at all....
So if you have it, go for it....

We're budgeted to spend $30K, I think we'll go a little higher but not much more for 175. We're not going on our honeymoon right away, we'll wai until July 2009 for that. So that's allowing us to stay within that budget.

Weddings are so expensive...I keep telling my FH that we should just elope and save this $$ fo the house we want. But both of or families wouldn't forgive us if we didn't have a wedding.

we have about 250 people and with honeymoon are budgeted for 70K we both think its alot so we try to save where we can, however anticipate spending that much

We decided that we wanted to have more money after the wedding so we changed our honeymoon to something less expensive and now we feel much better. Maybe there is somewhere you can cut corners to make him feel better about it.

yeah i get that too....its just overwhelming thats all cause they would rather spend it on a house or something which totally makes sense but sometimes u have to do things even when u dont really want to
