My FH crashed my car yesterday According to him the lady was speeding and ran the stop sign. She has State Farm and I have Progressive. I dont know what to do.....I contacted Progressive and they said I should drop it off at one of their auto body repair shops and they will give me a rental car but then I might have to pay a $500 deductible. I also don't want my insurance to go up. My FH was told by the auto body repair shop that picked up the other ladies car, to drop it off there and let her insurance pay for everything. I called State Farm and they said they are still investigating liability. What should I do? Drop it off at a Progressive approved facility and let them handle it or wait until liability is established and let State Farm take care of it???

I think you should call your own insurance company and go through them. They are working for you and they will investigate. Is there a police report?

oh no hope everyone is ok! i would go through your insurance cause you pay them and they will look out for you (well as much as insurance does)

I believe you do it through Progressive and let them duke it out w/ State Farm... Your insurance co. should do the legwork for you so I suggest goign through them.

Thanks girls. Everyone is okay, no one was hurt except my car I want to go through Progressive but FH is adament about waiting for State Farm to do the repairs. He feels that if we go through Progressive we may have to pay a deductable and our insurance will go up.

you only pay the deductable if its your fault.....otherwise the other company covers the bill......you have to file with your insurance company and wait for the police report

You might want to wait it out our call your ins and check what coverage you have. Make sure you have insurance coverage if other ppl are driving your car. Hope everything turns out okay

Ugh! What am i gonna do with jose?!?! Soo sorry to hear this happened! Accidents blow... esp ones that are totally not even your fault... (I had a few of those )

As long as the car is insured, anyone that is driving it is covered too... I was never put down on mommy n daddys insurance and i was always covered in accidents

my FH got into a car accident today. A 77 year old woman hit him and totaled his car. The both of them are okay. Thank goodness. But if I was you I would go to your own insurance company's approved auto body place and wait for liability. Hang in there.

let her insurance pay for everything!!! dont get your insurance involved. FH is in auto body, you also shouldnt be forced to choose progressives auto body shop...go through hers, its called a 3rd party claim

Ive been in quite a few accidents where one was my fault and the others were other peoples fault. Just do what your insurance company tells you to do. Once the police report is obtained they will figure out who is at fault and the insurance companies will fight it out.
