Would that be weird? He is wearing a tuxedo and an Ivory tie. No vest.... Thoughts? Not sure if I like this idea.

Re: FH doesn't want to wear a vest
My FH is not wearing a vest. Just a classic black tux, no vest, no cumberbund.

hm... black tux, white shirt, and ivory tie? I think if he doesn't wear a vest the ivory tie might look weird. like it might be better to just wear black in that case, but I'm not sure.
why doesn't he want to wear one? too hot?

He's afraid he's going to be too hot. And, of course, the salesman didn't help my cause and he's like 'oh no, he doesn't need to wear a vest!'

well he can take the jacket off if he's too hot though... I'm sure he will anyway. I'm a fan of the look of a vest but it's not totally necessary really.

He has his first fitting on August 7th. I may go an try to infiltrate... haha. Or even buy one just to have as 'backup.'

Re: FH doesn't want to wear a vest
We didn't do a vest. I think that's actually kind of the trend these days.
If you look at Hollywood today, it seems like at most red carpets events guys don't wear vests or cummerbunds. Just ties.
I dunno though how it will look with an off white tie though...

I do like the look of no vest or cumberbund. His GM's are wearing black vest and black tie.... Maybe it will be ok because he is the groom that he's not wearing a vest...

this is Dave & his best man....
Dave in his suit & tie and his best man in a suit, black shirt, black vest & raiders tie.
Thanks Jess. it's good to have visuals to 'picture' what it would look like!

Re: FH doesn't want to wear a vest
our groomsmen are wearing black tux, black vest, white shirt and black tie. They are only wearing vests because their tuxes are rentals. Some places that rent tuxes have only adjustable pants, so without the vests the clasps are visible on the pant waist. They are wearing vests because at some point in the night they will probably want to take off their jackets, and we didnt want their pants to look funny
fh bought his tux and is not wearing a vest or a flower, he will be in a black tux, white shirt, black skinny tie, and a pocketsquare.

I think it is fine....I would like FH to just be in a black suit so i guess it will look similar to that

Same situation! FH bought a ted baker tux and his GM are renting their tuxes.
