So I started planning the wedding in may of this year and then took the summer off (july, aug, sept) b/c work is crazy for me and we went on vacation. Now I am back to planning. I called FH this morning to tell him I set up a hotel block and he told me it was too early! Granted our wedding is a year away but the hotel was fine with it and now it's done. What's the difference! He has told me like 5 different things that I did 'too early'! ***!

we booked the RH 16 months in advance & the Church a year in advance. other then that we didn't book anything else until 9 months in advance.
with only 6 months to go we still have to book florist, limos & honeymoon.

he said it about the plaque too right? do they realize these things have nothing to do with the timing of the wedding... at least you locked in the rates now... they will probably go up if you waited too long!

Just don't tell him you did anything else...wait a few months and let him know all that you've accomplished. When we were at a year and half, FH was the same way, so I stopped telling him things. Now he's all involved b/c it's less than a year. I'm like check, check, check, already done!

FH told me the same thing because I started planning the day we got engaged and now he's thanking me for it because I am 90% done and all we have to do is pay off a few things. Don't let him upset you he's a man and they will never understand what goes into planning a such a huge and important event.

You're totally right he did! My worry about the hotel is that our wedding is the week before christmas. Lots of people might be visiting family etc..

Men do not understand the concept and how time consuming this planning process is. You have to research and have enough time to compare vendors and prices. BUT, men aren't the only one's who think it's 'Too Early' I told my Mom that we need to setup a schedule for the men and their tuxes. She said 'Why, if we can do that about 2 weeks before the wedding.....'

because its a plus for the simple fact that those prices would def have gone up if you waited...
