FH just told me...

...that his dad doesn't want to call any of the people on his side of the family who haven't RSVP'd (the due date was today) and if they show up at the wedding he will tell them to go home!!! Please shoot me!!!

How can we just NOT call them? It's 25 people!!!!

somebody definitely needs to call. can you get the numbers from somebody else? or can someone on his side of the family call them if you don't know them?

I've never even met most of them so I def don't feel comfortable calling... and FH will respect his dad's wishes so I know he won't call if his dad really doesn't want him to. But the kicker is that FH's dad used to OWN a catering hall!! He knows everything there is to know about planning a wedding or large event! He should know better!!!! Plus, my thing is... this is his family/friends... if he doesn't care if they come or not why were they invited in the first place? I understand he is upset at the non-response but UGH. It's just going to drive me crazy.

Does he have an aunt that he is close to? maybe she can call them but not make it like shes calling to ask if theyre coming...like maybe in conversation she can mention the wedding and see what they say?

This reminds me of an episode of one of those wedding shows, where the groom actually charged guests who showed up without RSVPing!

i know its sooooo frustrating.... i think this is the worst part of the planning. i don't have too many people to chase...

on a brighter note date twin...... exactly one month from today.. we will be married

That is crazy! Can you wait a day or 2? If the RSVP date was today, maybe they mailed it today and you'll get it soon. If not, someone needs to call! Good luck!

agreed! give it a few days, just to make sure....but come Sunday, I would put my foot down that someone needs to call!! Is FH's dad paying? If not, than I would say too bad. you need to know!
