FH - Mini Vent

Why are men so stupid???

I've been asking FH for months if he got the vacation time for the HM approved. He told me he didn't have to.

So now, over the weekend the pool team won the tournament and the trip to Las Vegas. This of course creates a problem for him because he has less vacation time than I do, and he has to earn it. He goes to his boss today and the boss tells him to just put in the vacation request (umm, hello, I thought it didn't have to be approved), and then when the HM rolls around to put in to 'borrow' time from next year, and it 'should' be approved. Not it 'will' be approved, but it 'should' be approved.

So, with 118 days to go, I find out FH might not get approved paid time off for the very expensive HM we have planned and PAID for, and we might be short one paycheck while away.

WOW.... I can understand your frustration! Have you already booked and paid for the HM????

what normal person uses his vacation time for a pool tournament and not his HM??? oh wait, any LIW bride's FH. mine didn't want to ask for 6 days off, so he tried to move our HM to labor day so he could seem to take one less day!

sorry he was a total moron at the moment. sometimes, we have to do things ourselves....my next vacation, i may request his time off myself.

What is with today!!!! Our FH's must have drank something all alike this weekend to be pissing us all off!!!! I hope it works out for you Darlene!!!

OMG Jay must have been thrilled that they won on Sunday!!!!!! Wow!!!! Congrats!

I'm sure it will work out w/ the hm. I think the boss is just letting him know 'I still call the shots.' I think in the end it will all work out, don't stress. I mean either way he WILL take the time & you guys will go where you planned.



Better 'call' drinking rights at my wedding now!

I think Hollie is right. Boys are dumb. When my FH originally put in the vacation request for work for the wedding, he put in Nov 8 through Nov 13. Problem? We're getting married Nov 5th, leaving for our HM Nov 7th, and don't get HOME until Nov 14th. I have no idea where he got the dates he put in for from.

Damn, all I have to say is thank God DH called me before he put in for his vacation time, because he wasn't even sure of the dates either!!!

Don't worry Darlene, I'm sure Jay will get the time off. As for being short one paycheck while on the HM, that will not matter as you will have some wedding gifts to hold you over so that you won't notice a missing paycheck!! (I had that same dilemma, I was not paid for the time I got off, but didn't notice it at all because of the gifts we received.)

Well, I will say he redeemed himself. When I talked to him after my hair trial he said he was worried about the vacation time and didn't like the fact that his boss said it 'should' be approved. He also said he was going no matter what, and told me not to worry - so, I am officially not worrying about this anymore. HIs sister's dress on the other hand . . . . . .
