I just found out that once FH returns from deployment he will be stationed in New Hampshire instead of Connecticut. I'm a little disappointed because I really liked the area in Connecticut where we would be living. I now have to do some research on apartments, etc. near the new base.

NH is beautiful! I went to college in Boston and loved going to NH. My friend also lived there for a year and she didn't want to come back. Just think, FI will be home...

NH is a beautiful state...I know it is hard to get use to something especially when you had your heart set on living in CT...At least FH will be home with you

NH is really nice...quiet but nice...and you will be on or near the base, so it's not so bad....my cousin took his new wife all the way from Miami, then to San Diego....now they are in Sicily!!!!!! the Navy can be tough with moves, but you will be with you baby.....can't beat that!

NH is very nice... I am in CT and it is nice but I wouldnt say any more nice than NH YOu will love it ..FH willbe with you GOod Luck

CT or NH shouldn't matter, the most important thing is that he'll be home and you 2 will be together!!! I know it means more work for you right now, but it'll all be ok!

I'm so sorry - personally I think New Hampshire is gorgeous though!! Good luck looking for apartments! What area is the base in? Luckily New Hampshire cost of living is less than CT and LI

The area we would have been living in CT is New London.
The Base is located at Portsmouth New Hampshire. I'll be going on line later to read a little about the town etc.
I'm a little disappointed because if we had stayed in CT, I would have been able to stay at my job and commute a couple of days and work from home the rest of the days. Definitely not a possibility in NH. This will be for at least a year and then we'll see what happens next.

Once you and he are together you will be just fine. NH is beautiful and it is not too too far from NY. Just think of it as an adventure andenjoy every day together! Good luck!

Oh ... New London is very convenient because of the ferry to orient point so you could come back to LI whenever. NH is still very nice though and not that much farther from LI when you come home to visit!
