FH started honeymoon search

FH started honeymoon search

Ok so FH started to talk with travel agents about our honeymoon. Based on the time of the year, they ruled out the Carribean, and Europe. They suggested Hawaii, Tahiti, Bora Bora, the British Virgin Islands, the Canary Islands, and Aruba.

What weird for me is that I realize that I don't like to travel. I am not super excited to go away for a week or two. I don't know why either. It has nothing to do with the locations above. I am not afraid of planes. I think something is wrong with me. I am just not a traveler. Anyone else like this?

I'm confused...is your TA aware that the BVI and Aruba are in the Caribbean?

Besides, February is pretty much perfect time to go...but OK!

As for travel, I don't think anything is wrong with you...at all!

Different part of the carribean. HE was thinking the furthest South.

I am just not happy when I am out of my surroundings for too long. It is weird because I went away to college and my parents used to ship me off to sleep away camp and I did very well.

Just to satisfy my monkey curiosity, why was the Western Caribbean ruled out?

And the BVI are in the same area as the more 'famous' islands, literally NEXT to Puerto Rico...still really confused.

I am horrible with geography and to tell you the truth, none of these places excite me in the least. I would rather go on a Disney Cruise but that is an absoluet NO because who in their right mind would take a Disney Cruise during Presidents week when they are a teacher. NO KIDS PLEASE!

If your not much of a traveler perhaps consider flight times. I like shorter flights for 7 day vacations but if you are going for two weeks maybe it doesn't matter.

I also think that you should go somewhere that you may never be able to go to again i.e. after kids - like bora bora. JMO

Good luck!

The only place I really want to go to see before I die is Israel. But I do not feel safe travelling in that part of the world now. Not as an American.

What are your likes? What, besides a cruise on a Disney ship, would you want to do?

There's Turks and Caicos...beautiful, clean, secluded. St. Barths...beautiful, secluded, very French. Antigua and Anguilla...gorgeous and secluded. St. Lucia...mountains and volcanos resemble Hawaii...and then there's always a cruise around the Caribbean or a cruise in Europe...if cruises are your thing.

I just wanna stay home and watch TV. Unplug the phones and SLEEP. I'm horrible.

That's always an option! Who says you HAVE to go somewhere?

FH really wants to go away. Neither one of us have really ventured out of the country. We went to Mexico in June/July but were really not overly impressed. I think I am just going to have to grin and bear it for his sake.

That's not really the 'spirit' for a HM...but you could just be overwhelmed. Good luck finding a place that excites you!

Maybe you can check out California then?

And Mexico, depending on the area can be a lot different that the South Pacific or the Caribbean!!

I had my heart set on Australia, Hawaii or Fiji, but FH refuses to take any flights longer than 5 hours!!!

FH would never go for it. It would be great if we were skiers because we are getting married in the winter. I personally love New England. He really wants to leave the country.

6 months from today, we are getting married. I think I am getting nervous. Who knows with me.
