I am getting so frustrated with FH! I've asked him a million times to please look at the guest list and finalize everyone's addresses. All except 2 people on my list are complete and they are technically not even 'my' guests, but my parents. But he has alot of family that we do not have addresses for.
I also discussed with FH a while ago about how FH is more comfortable in suits, and how we want the groomsmen to be in suits as well. Well we have an oot groomsmen (he lives in TX) and we wanted to go with a rental place that would be available in TX too (to ensure that they all choose the same suit). So we decided to stick with mens warehouse. Well MW doesnt rent suits, only tuxes. So FH brought up the fact that my girls have to buy their dresses which they probably will not wear again, but if the guys buy suits they can at least wear them somewhere else. So i tell him to contact his guys about it and of course the one guy that we are trying to be conscious of because of his OOT status, has to be like 'id rather rent a tux, its more economical'
I ask FH over and over again to take of these things and he still doesnt do anything. Because of his lack of initiative i was looking tonight at examples of tuxes online to see what we would have as options and i ask him to come to the computer and he says 'no, im tired'. I had off today and he worked so he threw that in my face. I told him that even when im working, im thinking of our wedding...im just so frustrated, what am i supposed to do!!

dont stress it... men are sometimes just men... My fh is very excieting about this wedding, he will talk about it, give me ideas, but refuses to do anything. so i just leave him out and make the choices for him...

I'm so sorry he's giving you such a hard time!!!!! Unfortunately Men don't work on the same time schedule we women do! They don't realize that things need to be done, now, basically. You definitely do have time, probably another few months before things need to be definitive with the tux issue (FH's been in a few weddings in the last year, all that he was 8 hours away for, and tux's were the last things to be done only about 3-4 months before the wedding - he didn't go for the fittings until 1 month before).
The guest list is a different story. I am very thankful to FMIL for having made up a great spreadsheet for it... however, she labeled things so confusingly!
Good luck, I'm sure things will get better! Maybe if you explain to him exactly why you need this done now and that it's really stressing you out that might light the fire under his butt that's needed.

Re: FH VENT! (sorry its long)
OH don't stress it.
And I am sorry but his groomsmen who said , 'he'd rather rent suits its more economical'-Um yea you need to make it clear that you were not giving him an option and this was more like a demand.
DO NOT stress yourself out. Give it a day or two and approach it again. And if yet again FH says the same thing calmly let him know how important this situations is. But please lets not forget why we are planning this whole wedding....(because we love each other) so don't STRESS

I'm sure his GM isn't aware of the fact that a lot of tux rentals are just as much as buying a nice suit. FH could give his GM ties, or any other accessory to go with the suit to off set the cost too. And at the end of the day, they'll have something to show for the money they spent!

i'm sorry your having a hard time with the guest list. do you really need to get this donw now? alot could change between now and when you actually have to send your invites out. and maybe take a break from the tuxedo thing. go ahead and pick out the BM dresses, but push the tuxedo/suit situation to the side. guys can do this much closer to the wedding and it will give FH some time to not have to think about it. there are other things to plan in the meantime!

Don't be upset. You have plenty of time to worry about tuxes. Once you get closer to your date is when I would start getting on his case. As far as addresses, can you skip right over him and go to his mom/dad for help?

yes the guest list has to be finalized now. No exceptions. If i give him time to 'think about it' it will never get done

Well have FH pick out something he'd rent. Get a price, and find a suit for the same price. You need to have your evidence in front of you when you present your case to these boys!

I go through the same thing with 'not now' but have faith that he will care about it when the time is right, you have some time so I wouldn't stress it too much.
weddings can be stressful so just relax and have a glass of wine...

Re: FH VENT! (sorry its long)
Just to let you know we had the same problem....FH likes suits, not tuxes. 1/2 the GM are here and the other 1/2 are in Seattle. What I did is a search for Suit Rental on Google. Came up with JML Suits or something like that. They give a list of locations that their suits can be rented from. Problem solved.
