FH wants to know... (bach party related)

how much do you think is reasonable (or average) amount of $ to ask for each guy for bach party?

fh found his best man wants all the guys to chip in $100 each for JUST the dinner/drink part of it. Thats a bit much, don't you think?

It depends where they are going... If it's an upscale steak house, that's probably what they should expect to spend...

it just worries him that considering most of the guys don't have much $$ and thats only half the bach party it seems a bit much to him.

My FH's friend is getting married in May and all the guys are going down to Key West for 4 days. It's cosing each guy $1,000. CRAZY!!!

His other friend got married last April and they all went down to Myrtle Beach for 3 days. FH didn't go because he couldn't afford it then. Not that he can afford this trip now but I think he feels guilty b/c he didn't go last year. He booked Key West before we got engaged. We regret it now b/c we're scrambling trying to pay for this wedding.

So, long story short (too late) I don't think $100 is too much to ask.

it'll actually end up more like $250 -300.
so thats not unreasonable?

That sounds about right for a bach party...

$250-$300 may be a little much! Do they HAVE to go out to eat? Can they just go out? Or can they go to a less expensive restaurant?

I was in my BF's wedding in July and I spent around $200 for the bachlorette party. It was kind of tough because I was laying out so much for the wedding that $200 on top of it strapped me a little.

??? Hope that helped....

I'd say $250-$300 is somewhat on the high end, but not unheard of. I know I spent approx. $300 at my best friend's bachelorette party...

Apparently some people are complaining about the cost of FH's bach party and its only costing $75!!!!!

it depends what your doing...
for $100 dinner/drink they could be at mortons...

Depends on where they go, if they drink, (like I know that when we go out and split a check when others are drinking its not fair, cause I don't drink) and if they want to. Really I think everyonen should be allowed to give what they can afford.

For my sisters, I gave more than my other sister did b/c she couldn't afford as much.

I was just going to say- good thing none of your FH's are friends with mine or his friends. $100 is like pennys for their bach. parties. Fh is going in 2 weeks to Miami for the music conferance and then off the the keys for a few days. One friend's bach. party was to Mardi Gra! Another to Vegas, etc, etc. I am not exaclty sure how much they paid but i knwo it is way more than $100!!!

They all seem to want to top the others!!

When did bach parties get so crazy? Do you girls go away?? I've heard of girls going to the bahamas for a few days but that is unlikely for me. UNLESS, there are already 2 of my friends engaged and getting married next year. 2 more could be soon. If 4 of us are getting married at the same time it might work out cheaper to go on one trip instead of 4 different bach parties.

That would be fun!!

Me and the girls are going to Vegas- but i am paying my own way. Also, my friend is getting married the week before me -so its a joint party!

I never heard of going to such extremes like that before I watched Trista and Ryans wedding, but if you can all afford it go for it, its a once in a lifetime chance.

I think it's a lof of money, but not for a bachelor party. My FH and his friends are going to Vegas for 4 days and my friends and I are planning on going to either Cancun or DR. We figured that a 'city' bachelorette party would wind up being $250-300 for one night so we would rather go away for a few days for only a couple hundred more. We're going to go somewhere all-inclusive and keep it around $500-600. I guess it's not such a big deal for us because we go on 'girls-only' trips every couple of months, so my BP is just another excuse to go away!

for my bach party id be more than happy to just take a limo to the city and go to a nice club.
i've been begging to go to Culture CLub or some other 80's club !! I'm not big on strippers even though thats whats probably being planned.

My Fh's friend had 3 bachelor parties - back when the groom had $$ - Vegas , Florida and NY...
Now they are stressing about going to Vegas for 1 party!!
It is all relative to what they are dong & how much $$ they want to spend...
