FH wants to move

FH wants to move

Just need to vent: FH called me today from work saying 'he is sad' I was like, about what? He says he regrets buying our house and wants to move. He emailed me a few homes that he did search for on MLS listings. We only moved into our current house this past October. I was like 'we haven't even been here for 6 months and we have a wedding to worry about this year... I am not moving to another house' I like our house, it is new, has CAC, one block from a private beach that we have access too.... I started a new job for this house and now he pulls this. I hope it is just a phase and he will get over it. He is just getting down because he has been traveling with his company since December. Every week he is some where new... this week he is up in RI, next week will be in CT. I think the home sickness is getting to him and this is his way of reacting. Just needed to tell someone.

I am sorry, that he feels like that. Stick to your guns and give it some time. Hopefully this will pass. Did he say why he doesn't like the house anymore.

Re: FH wants to move

Where does he work? Rocky Point is definitely far. My FW is from Riverhead/Wading River. She now lives in Bayside Queens with me. Its definitely a 'culture shock' for her... as she occasionally says she misses her family and not being able to see her friends as often as she would like hurts.

If you guys just moved in... you are going to take a major financial hit if you decide to move. Just the costs for a new mortgage alone will add up. Also you will definitely have to pay taxes on any capital gains your house has accumulated since moving in.

Good luck! Does he work in Manhattan? If he does... I definitely understand how he feels. My FW would definitely like to move back to that area... however I make triple her salary and I work in Manhattan so she isn't too pushy knowing the transportation issue I would have moving out there. She currently works in Melville.
