Shop around. Since you have a pic, I would print it out and go to a few different places. I would look at Flower Michele, Verbena, and a few local florist. I met with one florist who said that the vase were on rental and I felt that wouldnt work so I moved on to someone else. We ended up booking with verbena.
ETA: I dont think the price is a lot, I think it's a lot since you dont get to keep the vase.

Re: FH was shocked from a quote.............
we saw flowers by burton setting up for a wedding at the woodlands on saturday - they did a tall cp with branches and flowers (no candles) which looked very nice. the BM we were talking to said they are reasonably priced - you can try to check them out?

Re: FH was shocked from a quote.............
that seems really expensive...try looking around at a bunch of different florists... (maybe even try looking into renting your centerpieces...FH's cousin did that for their wedding...)

normally if you can take them the DJ will make an announcement that you can, and will play a game to see who gets it. If the DJ doesnt make an announcement then you dont take them...

i'm looking into the same type of high CP and I don't think $95 is alot. i actually am finding it to be average BUT the vases are mine so I can give the CP's away.

Since I'm 3 blocks from the flower district I'm going to take a look at what the florist pay wholesale for branches. Thay way I can see what the markup is. I know they charge for the labor but at least I can get an idea.

honestly, they are probably really easy (and inexpensive) to make. if you are planning on having them on every table, it make make sense to DIY.

Re: FH was shocked from a quote.............
you can totally re-create that yourself if you just go to michaels or another craft store. you can possibly buy the stuff you need for your centerpieces and ask the florist or someone at the hall to set it up for you that way you do not have to do this yourself. This centerpiece is totally do-able and $95 is a lot of money for that in my opinion. Once you say wedding to a vendor the price goes up astronomically because they know you are willing to pay for the convenience...shop around :) you'll get a better price

Funny you said that. FH wants to go to Michaels today
We told Denise at Cresent Beach what we wanted as a centerpiece and the first thing she said was try to make it yourself....go to michaels!!
