FH's Bachelor Party

FH's Bachelor Party

FH is refusing to invite any of my guy friends to his bachelor party.

When I asked him why, he said it was because they are 'losers' (i.e. they like to go out to dinner and drink fine wine instead of do the bar scene) and he also said they wouldn't get along with his 'crazy and fun cop friends'.

None of my brothers are going because they live too far away.

I feel like this should worry me. Am I over-reacting? I am afraid to talk to him about this again because of the way he jumped down my throat about it the last time.

Any other FH's acting shady about their bachelor party?

I wouldn't worry. I can understand your FH not wanting YOUR guy friends there because they don't have similar interests. Also, I think it's more fun to be with the group of people you normally hang out with because then you know there's not going to be anyone who is going to slow the party down or complain or anything else like that. I wouldn't worry. He probably just wants a night out with his own friends. I don't know too many guys who invite guys they are not close with. For us girls this seems normal, for guys, well, they get weird. Hang in there.

It's not overreacting, it's normal to feel that way And the fact that they are cops probably means they're really tight friends. So that's even more of a reason they wouldn't want any other 'outsiders'. You know how boys are Them and their penises. Such babies

I told my FH that my best guy friend is to be invited to his bach party. He said, 'Sure! Tell him to bring a few friends!' *shrug*
He wants my dad and my two brothers there as well, but I don't think they'd go.
I don't think you're overreacting, but then again, I'm psycho when it comes to bach. parties. I think they're kind of stupid.

I don't think you're over-reacting. I do NOT think it's OK for you to be afraid to bring it up again or for him to 'jump down your throat' over something so random. Just let him know that with or without your friends there...what you ARE and ARE NOT comfortable with him doing at his bachelor party. in the end, he'll do what he wants, but at least he'll know how you feel and can choose what to do with that information...

They are going to a strip club and then some local bar near his house where their entire high school / town hangs out.

IMO, a bachelor party is given to the groom by his friends, not the brides friends.

I wouldn't expect my FH to invite any of my guy friends, if I had any. JMO
