FH's Question about Church Readings

FH just asked me what version of the Bible the church uses for the readings.....does anyone have any idea on this? It's a Roman Catholic church.....

.....also, is the Gospel reading always the same for a wedding ceremony? Or does the officiant decide?

TIA! I have so many church-related questions!

Re: FH's Question about Church Readings

when you do pre cana they should give you a book with readings in it. if not ask the church you are getting married at for it.
you pick from there.
alot of churches roman catholic or otheriwse have different versions of the bible, the readings are pretty much the same but the wording may be a bit different.

Its usually one reading from the old testament and one from the new. DId you get a book that outlines everything that you need to choose?

Re: FH's Question about Church Readings

When we met w/ our Deacon, he gave us the book that we have to choose all the readings from and the gospel, too. I think we choose 1 reading from the Old Testament and 1 from the New. We have PreCana in 2 weeks so maybe we'll find out more then.
