I got him one on Amazon that was made out of Tungsten for like $60, and honestly I'm just not thrilled with it. It's really light, and it's not as bright as white gold or platinum. He's not really a diamond or showy kind of guy, so I thought this one would be perfect, but I just don't love it.
He did LOVE a claddagh wedding band, but he says it's too expensive. Should I splurge and get it for him anyway?!

I think you should get the one he loves. You generally wear a wedding ring every day, I think it's an acceptable splurge. Plus how much do our FH's really get in terms of what they want for the wedding, it's nice to make sure they get what they want when possible.

Re: FH's wedding band
We got 18k white gold. I say, splurge and buy something nicer. Of all the things we end up spending money on for the wedding, the ring is the one thing that will get use every day for the rest of our lives. I'd put more $ in that and less in flowers or something else that will be gone in 4 hours. But thats JMO!

We really liked the Tungsten but I wanted to suprise him and engrave it and I was told by the jeweler that you cant engrave Tungsten. I would splurge if I was you and had the extra room budget!

Re: FH's wedding band
FH just wants plain gold. So boring.. But it's what he wants so I am going with it.

I bought that band for FH and he loved it but since you can't size it his finger was in between the 2 smallest sizes we had to return it. My friend got her husband's tungsten band from Good Old Gold in Massapequa and I think they measure you and custom make it.

Re: FH's wedding band
it's light? are you sure it's tungsten? that's usually the heaviest metal for rings...

Re: FH's wedding band
The only problem with Tungsten is that it can never be resized. So if he outgrows it, that it for that ring. But than again, if you paid $60, you can always get another one. FH wants white gold with the satin finish. It's plain and nice. Not what I would have picked, but happy he picked it.

ITA! Plus, I love claddagh rings. I wanted to get one for FH for his wedding band and he said no. He just wants plain old white gold. BO-RING!

Thanks ladies! I think I'm going to do it! Now how to surprise him with it..haha!
My friend got her husband a Tungston ring and he accidentally dropped it on a tile floor and it shattered!!! So I would just make sure there is some sort of warranty on it....
