My FI and I are having a bet and I said that you guys would solve this for us. I think that we should book are trip to Hawaii about 4-6 months in advance. (our wedding is in July) He says that's too early, we can wait until two months before. Who is right? (Pick me! Pick me!)

The earlier you book, the cheaper you can get it. That is the advice that has been told to me every time I ask about honeymoons!

Book four to six. That's when you get the best deal on airfare. (according to my travel agent, but I booked 10 months in advance and the price has gone up since then...I'll let you know if it goes down at 6.)

Book early!!! You don't want to book to late because of availability, Hawaii is very popular for honeymoons. Also you will get a better rate.

You never really know when the deal is going to come your way but if you wait - you may lose out entirely or get stuck somehwere you don't really like. I'd book it early. Peace of mind is worth a lot to me.

I looked in your profile and see that you are getting married next July. You can really book your entire honeymoon by the end of August or early September. The nice hotels (like the Hyatt) can book up so quickly). I have people who book their honeymoons with me over 1 year in advance. And if the rates go up, you are locked in to the price when you booked. If they go down, your agent should be able to adjust your package. (I am a travel agent this is why I know this) I would say, don't wait until 2 months prior to book. You win!!

Book. 4-6 months seems completely reasonable to me, especially for travel in July....lots of people take vacations then.

I think the longer you wait the more chances they will book up or the rates will be higher, as soon as you figure out what and where you want to go book it!
