FI has horrible asthma....

What can I do to prevent an attack during the wedding? Does anyone have it and knows how to prevent it? Could the flowers trigger allergy problems which lead to an attack? He'll bring along an inhaler but should he bring along the nebulizer too? Is there anything that should be taken into consideration beforehand?

He should really talk to his doctor about it.

Re: FI has horrible asthma....

Maybe he should take it BEfore the ceremony, before he even has any symtoms.
Ihave a male friend that plays professional football and he has mild asthma and he takes his puffs before he goes out to play..like as a preventative

Re: FI has horrible asthma....

I have asthma and take Singular, a pill, every morning that keeps attacks under control. This pill is a preventative measure. It has helped me tremendously. My attacks, which can last for days, seem to come during extreme weather conditions (low, low temperatures and during very hot weather). I know that this pill needs to be taken for at least 6 weeks for it to take effect. But most importantly, your FI needs to talk to his doctor soon to set up an asthma action plan. Good luck!

Re: FI has horrible asthma....

I think you should let the doctor decide. Always make sure he has medicine for it available.

Re: FI has horrible asthma....

John has asthma also, the best thing it to talk to your doctor. Very important to find out what he's allergic to.
Good Luck

Re: FI has horrible asthma....

I have asthma...I am just gonna try to keep stress to a minimum days before and take care of myself...I will just take my preventative medicine (advair) and carry albuterol (my rescue inhaler) with me that day....he should talk to his doctor about it.

Re: FI has horrible asthma....

There are many drugs out there to prevent an attack. Before I excercise I always use Advair (well not now that I'm pregnant) but he should definitely discuss it with his provider.

Re: FI has horrible asthma....

I have asthma and the best thing my doctor did was put me on Advair. It's a wonder drug for me. I've been on it for over a year now and I haven't had an attack.

My asthma has to do with allergies, so anything can sent them off (pollen, cat dander, dust, flowers, etc).

I'm sure if he takes an anti-histamine, it should last all day.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email me!
