FI & I were invited to a wedding taking place at a hall that grossed me out

Ok I wont name the hall outright (FM me if you want to know) because I see quite a few ladies have booked this place. When FI & I were looking for halls we went in to this place, the banquet manager showed us around, wasnt thrilled with it at all, she sat us down in a room where they were set up for a wedding that was coming in. The BM must have had a cold or pink eye because she was constantly scratching & rubbing her eye and it was runny and gross. As this woman is talking to us rubbing her eye, eye crust (EWWWWWWWWWW) falls from her eye onto a plate!!!!! I swear to God I almost threw up!

FI & I receive an invitation yesterday for a friends wedding and guess where it is. I am so skeeved out about this I dont want to go at all, but then our friends will be dissappointed. What would you do, go and not eat or make an excuse and send a gift.

The mere thought of the poor person who ate from that place

Damn- it sounds like it was me when I worked at the Milleridge.. I had pink eye but I don't remember sitting down in a room... and it was when I was leaving and I wasn't thrilled... i had pink eye for christ sakes.

I have heard good things about that place. Is this a really good friend?

That is pretty disgusting, but honestly, this sounds like an isolated incident and I would like to assume that the Banquet Manager had the plate removed after your appointment ended.

So many things happen behind the scenes at restaurants that we never want to know about and you are basically at their mercy any time you eat out side of your own home.

I don't think I could refuse the invitation of a close friends wedding.

I swear to god it sounds like me! I had really bad pink eye but we didn't get sick days- so if you don't work- no pay.

Christine I dont think she realized it. I know that things happen behind closed doors in restaurants, but it was the mere fact that I caught this incident that made me sick.

I agree with Christine. We don't even want to know what happens when we go places & this was an isolated incident.

I would still try to let it go. This person had pink eye. It's not like they were doing something so unsanitary on purpose. If it was intentional like picking forks up off the floor, I would have a different opinion.

I just FM you. How gross! If I were you, I'd go just to be there for my friend (unless she's not a good friend) and just not eat anything! Have a big meal before you go!
