FI & I were invited to a wedding taking place at a hall that grossed me out

Ok I wont name the hall outright (FM me if you want to know) because I see quite a few ladies have booked this place. When FI & I were looking for halls we went in to this place, the banquet manager showed us around, wasnt thrilled with it at all, she sat us down in a room where they were set up for a wedding that was coming in. The BM must have had a cold or pink eye because she was constantly scratching & rubbing her eye and it was runny and gross. As this woman is talking to us rubbing her eye, eye crust (EWWWWWWWWWW) falls from her eye onto a plate!!!!! I swear to God I almost threw up!

FI & I receive an invitation yesterday for a friends wedding and guess where it is. I am so skeeved out about this I dont want to go at all, but then our friends will be dissappointed. What would you do, go and not eat or make an excuse and send a gift.

The mere thought of the poor person who ate from that place

You should definitely still go. Sounds like it was an isolated incident. Was the rest of the place clean and respectible?

Food comes served on a plate (usually), so the ones that are out on the table aren't the ones the food goes on anyway.

I agree with Christine. We have no idea about what happens behind closed doors and this sounded like an isolated incident so I wouldn't miss a friends wedding over it.

We will probably end up going but just eating a meal before or after, or as someone suggested 'pretend to eat'

Stacey, of course I too have to know which hall you are talking about! And I agree with lisat, the plates on the table are just part of the decor, the food comes on a different plate all together! So, if it's your good friend go and have a good time! Think of it as an isolated incident and don't let it spoil your fun!

Oh, I am sure it will be a nice Wedding despite that incident - try not to think about it - everything happens in the rest. industry - beleive me. I would also like to know if you can forum me!
