FI Lighthouse Pics

Hi Ladies,
So I am pretty sure that we are going to do our pics down by the Fire Island Lighthouse. Of course, there is an application fee and a permit. I was wondering if anyone else was considering having pictures taken down there or has had pictures taken down there. Do people really check for permits?? Can you share some of your pics? Any info helps, thanks!!

The problem is, its a bit of a walk because you really can't park anywhere near it. However, if you do have the permit they let your cars on the private road that gets you much closer as opposed to trying to walk formal gear and all from the closest parking lot which would be the beach lot. The closer spots definitely help especially if it is a busy really hot summer day.
I've contacted the parks department and I think I might just get the permit. It is $150 and it also gives you and your party access to the special parking spots and all photo ops. Suppose I don't get the permit and someone else does for that date, they would then have priority over us and we only have a small window of time. Some of the people that work inside have a bit of an attitude also, and I could see them giving us a hard time.
Oh well, I was looking to save a little, but I might just have to suck it up and buy it. I was just wondering if anyone else had gone down there with or without permits and what their experiences were like...

we took our e-pics near the lighthouse (see photos in album). We couldn't go directly up to it for permitting reasons (per my photographer), but we could get pics with the lighthouse in the background. We also went over to the bay side and took some pics on the beach on the ocean side. LMK if you have any questions!! HTH!
