Fiance is the biggest PSU fan....help with the colors what should i do??

Okay I need a bit of Help....I have a question regarding color of bridesmaid dresses for a SUMMER wedding. I have always been told and assumed that summer weddings should be light bright colors. Am i right??? Okay here is the problem...my fiance is the BIGGEST Penn State Fan and all he wants is a semi- PSU wedding. Meaning...The big thing that he wants is the girls to wear Navy dresses. I wouldn't have problem with that at all but the wedding is in JUNE. Is it just me or can someone support me to tell him that Navy should NOT be worn in the summer! His reasoning is that you can brighten it up for the summer all with the flowers ....HELP ...haha he is impossible!!!

I voted for Tiffany Blue because I personally prefer lighter colors for the summertime. We are doing red, pink and orange as our theme colors (around gerber daisies) HOWEVER my best friend is getting married in August and had to go through a similar dilemna with navy. She loved one designers dresses but he doesn't have a full range of chiffon colors and she needed blue. So we looked into doing the navy and brightening it with the flowers. She eventually decided to go with a diff designer in turquose but navy can be brightened A LITTLE BIT if the flowers are very bright. She was originally going to make the girl's wear white orchids in their hair and pearls to draw the eye up. BUT if you have your heart set on a very festive feel, navy won't get you there.

How about meeting him halfway with Navy accents? Like have the girls wear a lighter shade of blue or another color and then throw navy into their sashes or their bouquets? Wrap Navy ribbons around the stems of your flowers and the BM's. Navy in the cake and reception decorations, etc.

My wedding is in August and we're going with navy- I'm not too worried about it (although now I wonder if I should be!
