Fighting with FH...

Fighting with FH...

Is it just me or has anybody else been fighting with your FH more and more during this planning process? It's so frustrating. We argue here and there but we never have been big fighters over the years.. and now its just every other day is something new to argue about. We both agree that we can't wait until the planning is over and we can just be happily married because we're both so stressed out with work & school & other things going on..

Glad to see I am not the only one. FH and I have been together for 7 years and never bickered as much as we are now :( It is so upsetting. I am happy that most of the wedding planning is done.. for now.. but now we are in the process of buying a house and began bickering over furniture and the size of tvs .. ugh

I know what you mean. FH and I have had a number of arguments due to the planning. We both decided we are tired of arguing and we will try our best to communicate our issues with each other.

It's just so frustrating and aggravating... We never had issues with fighting before and now we're 3 months away from the wedding and we can't stop arguing. It's totally not like us and I know it won't last but for the time being, I can't stand it.

I totally am. I feel so bad because afterwards I know that it's my fault because my fuse has been so short. It's a mixture of the wedding planning, work, and everything else.

lol, FH and I always bickered/ argued.. its just in MY nature, so rather then arguing over whats for dinner now we're arguing over wedding stuff.. then it'll be a house and everything that goes into that... so its a never ending cycle.
I have no problems with it though.
I feel that fighting only makes you stronger, and making up is great !

Me and FH never, ever fought until the wedding planning started. I will admit it is all me, and around once a month I go off in the head and psycho about the planning process lol.

I'd say it's really common because of how many girls on here write the same topic. We didn't argue a lot, but we argued more than usual which is really never.

we dont really argue and havent about the wedding EXCEPT for the music issue im having. FH wants a DJ, dad wants a band and he's paying. We've had some really bad fights about it. we have just kinda ignored the issue and not done anything about booking stuff cuz we cant agree.

Yes you are not the only one. This happened to a friend of mine and she warned me and she was right! As soon as we got engaged we started fighting mostly about the wedding and money all the time - sometimes over stupid things like personalized napkins!

Sorry you are going through this but I think it is common - planning a wedding is very stressful. Way more stressful than I thought!

Ok, so now I don't feel so bad. FH and I bicker more than usual. From the beginning I warned him that if he did not want a Zilla to help me out, so I gave him some tasks and has not done any of them of schedule. Then he argues and says taht as long as it gets done why do we need a schedule.... . It is so frustrating, so trust us you are not alone and it will pass, at least that's what I have been told..

This is exactly like me & my FH. I ask him to do something and it takes so long and then he says 'well I told you I would do it, I don't know why you don't believe me.' But it takes him FOREVER! I can't even explain the huge fight we had over him getting addresses from his parents...

Thank you all for responding. It makes me feel better to know that this is obviously normal. I knew wedding planning would be stressful but I had no idea how bad it would get when you throw in the stress from 300 other things going on.

we def have been arguing more over money.. not so much for the wedding but moreso about our living situation after the wedding (like being able to afford a house vs. renting)

Re: Fighting with FH...

Ladies, speaking from experience (just married on Friday), this is common. Don't worry, your marriage is not doomed or anything. It's the stress on you and him and from the families and friends. Just work on getting through it together. Trust me, in the end, the fighting will cease and you will be able to enjoy your wonderful wedding day together! Take a deep breath and just try to set up some alone time for you two to relax with one another. Trust me, you'll need it!
