Fiji Anyone?

FH and I really want to go to Tahiti, but we are now considering Fiji because it seems to be fairly similar, but a lot cheaper.

Anyone here doing, or has done, Fiji?

Same for us....Tahiti is far enough...FIji looks gorgeous but it's just too far. Really looking forward to the 2 weeks in Tahiti.

I had the same issues with Fiji - way too long of a flight.

However we might be able to go to Tahiti after all. We got our taxes done with weekend and between the two of us we are getting back about $7600 - that should really help us.

We did Fiji & loved it. It was a LONG flight but worth it. These days, with the new non-stop from JFK to Tahiti - I think you can find a better deal there with promotions than you can to Fiji. Our flights to Fiji were about $2K each without the LA leg (we used miles for that).
Here is where we stayed which I would def. recommend for an intimate, relaxing trip but not if you're very active. This particular resort was the only one on this island - you had to fly in a 4 person plane for 2 hours from the main island, than drive for 25-minutes and then take a speedboat across to it - it was VERY secluded:

We stayed 3-nights at a golf resort on the main island, than a week at Qamea.
