Why is fiji so much cheaper than tahiti? Im bored and plugging in the same dates in expedia and fiji trips are like under $5000 a couple with flight and tahiti (not with overwater bungalows) is like $10,000+ a couple with flight.

I heard something about MAJOR political issues in Fiji and how they were urging Americans not to travel there because of the unrest.
Don't know if that's still the case, but I would assume that's why it's suddenly so much cheaper.

yep I think thats why as well... usually as soon as places are thought of as unsafe prices drop tremendously.
