FIL-HELP

My FH and I have had a long distance relationship for a while.... we have been dating for two years.. and have been trying to figure out the holidsays with the family. This year, before we get married, we split xmas eve and day. Eve we went to FH's house and dessert we went to my fam. My grandmother lives in a nursing home and needs solmeon to take her home. I offered, (as usual) and went over. FIL agreed that we would have dinner at 5:30;.. well, that didn't happen. We didn;t eat until 6:15-6:30 and I needed to leave at 7pm to take my grandma home... FIL didn't know this, but they knew we were going to dessert at my family's house. I was so annoyed, FH had to work today, is sick and took the ferry from CT. FIL NEVER called to tell us they were running late.... we showed up and WAITEDD... she never even aplogixed for no phone call, and didn;'t even thank me for the cookies i made and put on a platter.... WHAT IS UP WITH THAT?????

Need advice, this isn;t the first time she has done this. COuldnt thjink of a better place to ask for advice... thanks ladies, HAPPY HOLIDAY

Re: FIL-HELP

As a now newlywed and with my DH for 6 years now there is one thing you need to learn. You will never please your inlaws. For some reason or another. Over time it may pass but around the holidays no matter what you do they always have something to say. I have gone through this for 6 years and it drive me nuts. My parents are so easy to please my MIL is unpleasable. Good luck and don't let it bother you or spoil you christmas. I know it is easier said then done but blow it off and learn from what happened. SOrry for being honest and i wish you all the best.
