Filene's Running of the Brides Event Today

Did anyone go? Anyone get trampled?
I wanted to go (if not for the dress, maybe for the entertainment value!) but was at work instead.

Please tell.......

I stopped by around 2 p.m. I heard it was a mad house at 8 a.m. (and people lined up at 5 a.m.) They had a lot of designer gowns including a few Romona Keveza gowns that I tried, at least 1 Stephen Yearick, 1 Jim Hjelm and tons of Demetrios, Mori Lee, Ian Stuart & Sincerity.

This is a Romona Keveza I tried.

I also tried this Liancarlo which was like $699 but it's $199 on www.bridepower.com. it did not look as great on me as it does on the mannequin though.

Thanks. How were the dresses overall? Old fashioned? Modern? How about the sizes? I wonder if they had dresses left around 5pm.

Thanks!

The dresses ranged from 1980's looks to styles that are still available. They had pink, blue, gray and even green gowns.

I saw sizes from 4 to at least 12 and I know there were larger sizes because I saw women taking gowns to try on that had to be size 18 or so in street clothes.

The dress are being shipped out tonight. They close at 10 p.m.

I was thinking of stopping by after work but didn't think they'd be dresses left at that time...gesh, if I knew they closed at 10?

Ahwell, good thing I have a gown in mind :) By the way, you didn't buy anything right? I thought the dress you tried on looked very nice. Did you need to pin it b/c it looked like it fits really well.

That Romona Keveza was actually too big on me. I did not buy it. It did not seem bridal to me or my good friend who came to look with me. I felt like it was more of an evening gown. Also, it has a large stain on the front right side (near the bottom).

Stain? What? They had dresses with stains? I know they're only $249 or less but... Anyway, it's a modern/contemporary dress..yeah, not very 'bridal' in the traditional sense. Nice though.

They had a lot of dresses with missing beading and some with stains. They are all samples from all over the country I think. They were collected for this sale.
