So today my final count is due at NRC. I got an email on Saturday about FH's cousins fiance changing her response to a NO b/c she will be returning from vacay. I understand that but you knew you were going away when you sent the RSVP back. Especially since she is planning a wedding I think you could have been a little more considerate I had to order a new place card to be done by the printer. Now today my aunt calls to tell me that my 17 y/o cousin got a late acceptance to BMX camp August 15-21st so he will not be attending my wedding. I mean really how many more family members are going to mess with my place cards and table seatings.

Very frustrating!
If ANYONE does this at my wedding, they are getting a card from the hall handed to them by my mother or FH's mom.

I know many brides have said to tell your RH 5 people less because you can always pay for the extra people but you can never get your money back for the people who don't show

Can you just leave that place card the way it is and tell the RH not to count that person bc it was a last minute change? I know who you are talking about and I don't think he would care if it had both names. I wouldn't stress it. I keep telling you--to remember you're getting married!!! None of this other stuff matters. I will need you to give me the same advice in a few months when I'm going through this

That's a good idea because I had 3 people cancel on me a week before the wedding and 2 that couldn't show up because they were called into work the night of (they are cops). I know it stinks, but try not to sweat it. It seems like this happens to everyone

I am glad you heard before you gave the number in.. I wouldn't worry about the cards being there if they don't come... I also wouldn't worry too much about the tables...If a person or two is missing from a full table it will be fine...If some wacky group cancels, then I would rearrange..but don't stress...they are inconsiderate. Don't be surprised if another person does this or is a no show.....it is the nature of this stuff in this time. Manners are going out the window.... All you have to do is ride the LIRR and hear people screaming in their cellphone with their feets on the seats to see this...ugh.
