When are you girls making your final payments on your dresses? I think mine's due on the day of the first fitting, but I kind of feel like thats not the norm...?
whenever you want it to be! i haven't gotten my dress yet, but mom and I dropped off the final payment last week.... we just wanted one less thing to worry about closer to the wedding. Do NOT pay for alterations though until they are completed to your satisifaction.

I think that would be the norm to pay the dress off the day of the first fitting. I would think the shop nor the seamstress would touch it unless it was paid off. I do not think the shop would allow the alterations to be done otherwise. Alterations are always extra. Any bridesmaids gown I have gotten I always paid the balance before I had alterations. Maybe I am wrong but that is how I thought it was done.
