Final 'married' task done....

After a year & 3 months, I finally sent my passport out to change over to my married name!!! I figured now was the time to do it because we don't plan on travelling too far this summer!

So now I will officially be Mrs P on all accounts!

Good for you! That is great...so glad you posted this b/c I have to do it too!
About to book our 1st Anniv. trip for this fall to Aruba.....I was trying to figure out if I should just book under my maiden name...not sure how long the passport takes...do you know? Does anyone know? I heard they are all taking longer than usual since the passport laws have changed and so many people need new ones.

I'm so lazy - I just have to mail in the old one with the proper documents - right???

Thanks girls!!!

I heard they are taking on average 13 weeks, which puts you mid August. You have to send the form DS-82 along with 2 new pictures, old passport, original marriage certificate & a check for $67.

Great - thanks for this info!
My trip is in about 17 weeks so if I do it right away I should be ok - although I am sort of pushing it. AGH I don't know what to do. But DH and I want to go away again next March so I'll need a passport then too....I might as well just do it now and hope it is here by Oct.....

SO glad I can send a new picture....mine current one is frightening! haha!

OMG you just reminded me that I have to do this. Husband and I are going to Greece (thanks to FT) in September and I have to get this done before then!

Congrats to you though!!!

You can always send it in expedited & pay more $$ but get it back a lot quicker!!!

DH and I are celebrating our first anniversary in Mexico, so I just sent in the form to change my name on my passport. I paid to expedite the service just in case, and later that afternoon they announced that passports will not be required to travel to Mexico through Sept. 30th

Better safe than sorry!!
