Yes, I multiplied it wrong when I was initially trying to figure out the price, and that's why it's good to make sure they write a total number for your minimum number of people for you.

For my venue, it's the service charge and then everything is taxed. It's crazy!

Re: Final Payment

they can get away with taxing it by calling it a mandatory service charge/gratuity amount as opposed to a suggested one. Definitely stinks!!

Re: Final Payment

does the 2nd to last payment include these charges, or are they all on the last payment

so my question is really- if my 2nd to last payment is 50% of total is that 50% of my pp or is it 50% + svc + gratuity? also is it based off of my minimum?

This. my hall was in the process of changing it when we were booking from calling it gratuity to service charge. But we made sure that they did not tax the gratuity for us and we worked that out when we signed the contract.

Re: Final Payment

My bill was written as such (with fictitious numbers)

total: 10,000
20% grat: 2,000 (20% of 10, 000)
tax: 1035 (.08625 of 10,000 + 2,000)
