Finalizing music tomorrow with the bandleader with mixed emotions...

The closer we get, the more things become final. Tomorrow night FH, Mom and I are meeting with our bandleader to discuss the 'playlist' for lack of a better word. It took FH quite a bit of time to help me pick a first dance song as we never had 'a song' per se, but he did it.

The hardest part was trying to find a song to dance with my brother. I love my brother dearly and I looked up to him my whole life but despite how grateful I am to have him there for me I can't help but think about why I am dancing with him and not my Dad.

Dad is gone 5 months and the pain is very real and still fresh. I think it will be hard on the both of us as well as my 2 sisters and my mother. I'm even getting choked up as I write this. As the years go by, my brother is looking more like my father, so I hope that when I look him in the eyes, I can feel my father's pride.

I am so sorry for your loss. I do believe that your daddy will be looking down on you, not only on your wedding day but on all your days.

I agree- your father is definitely looking down on you and I'm sure he misses you so much too but is very proud to see how you and your FH are making a new life together

FH will be missing his father too. It's not the same without them but they will be there in spirit! Try to enjoy your day as much as possible, I'm sure it's what he would have wanted!

My brother chose 'What a Wonderful World' by Louis Armstrong. And I know he is going to try to sing it like him when we dance. I am glad for one thing though. My brother is an AWESOME dancer. Lots of twirling - better take my Dramamine!
