Congrats, that is so great. It is such a relief to have the biggest part of the wedding day finalized!

I don't think that 8:30 is late at all... especially on a Friday night. It's very considerate for people who work 9-5. They can go home, and get changed, and head to the reception. However, the downside is that they might not take the time off to see you get married, but a lot of people skip the ceremony in all weddings anyway, so I wouldn't worry about it.
