We did it girls we picked our reception hall we saw 15 halls and we finally picked one WOOHOO and I am now ready to start planning and shopping and freaking out one question doesn't 830pm-130am sound late for a reception(friday night) too late to change it now but FH seems haoppy and oh so excited too he even called his mom who is vacationing in Florida to tell her (we also are having athe ceremony in church now) we werent planning on it but we are now .....so EXCITED!!!!!!!!

congrats. i dont think 8:30 is too late i had a friday evenign reception and i had cocktail hoour at 7:30 and the reception ending at 1pm and everyone semmed happy with it.

Congrats! You can check off the biggest thing on the list.
I don't think that 8:30 is late at all... especially on a Friday night. It's very considerate for people who work 9-5. They can go home, and get changed, and head to the reception. However, the downside is that they might not take the time off to see you get married, but a lot of people skip the ceremony in all weddings anyway, so I wouldn't worry about it.

I don't think it's too late and since it's a Friday night you might have more people show up for the ceremony if that is a little later too.

I agree. Keep in mind most people have work until 5:00 so 8:30 start time would be better for them than a 6:30.
