Finally!!

Finally!!

I have saved my gown from that hell hole of a salon in Brooklyn. It is sitting in my closet right now. I didn't get to try it on with a poufier crinoline, because it just so happened they were having a trunk sale and the place was a zoo.

Between all the phone calls and the idiotic salespeople there, I have had nothing but problems with the place. Only 2 people there were helpful. And one of them was the one who wanted to cut 2 inches off the bottom of my dress, when there's detailing on the bottom!! So saying she helped, isn't saying much, but at least I can say whenever I spoke to her she was always friendly. The other woman I saw maybe twice (including today) was also friendly. Everyone else basically acted like they couldn't be bothered, whether it was on the phone or in person.

It's been honestly the worst bridal experience I have ever had, (including the 3 times I've been in other weddings) and I went to at least 5 other places. I argued with my mother numerous times for forcing me into this place and this predicament, but thankfully it is over now. Now my only dilemma is where to go to get it altered. (Oh yeah, that was the other thing, the salon didn't do alterations on the weekends!! You expect me to drive out to Brooklyn straight from work on Thursdays?? I don't freaking think so.)

Anyhow, just thought I would let you guys know as I have vented about my salon over the past 6 or 7 months now. Thankfully, I will never have to deal with them again.

You can breathe now - she's home safe and sound. As for a seamstress, I know of one in West Islip, but thats far for you, right?

Nope, that's about 10-15 minutes away from me.

Okay - she is a really nice Itlalian woman who does alterations out of her home. She used to make wedding dresses. A friend of mine used her when she was getting married, and I went with her to some of her appts. She even fixed my cocktail dress for free. I will speak to my friend, get her contact, and FM you the details.

I don't know where you live, woman!!! I would have stopped by!!

My parents told me there is a bridal shop across the street, and there's one in Sheepshead Bay somewhere. In retrospect, I should have just picked the one in Sheepshead Bay!!

Re: Finally!!

Go to RK...hindsight 20/20 I would have just went there....they guarantee to get in a lot of the dresses in 3 - 4 months. (including the designer of my gown, and I had to wait 6 months)

Re: Finally!!

I know a seamstress in Coram. Filomena's dressmaking. She's done dresses for me before and is working on my gown right now. Not sure where you are. Good luck!

Re: Finally!!

sorry u had a bad experience. was this place next door to telco. if it was, i've been hearing bad stories

Re: Finally!!

Can't remember if there's a Telco next door, I think there is. It's Lestan on Ralph Ave & Flatlands next to the Arch Diner.

Some people have had good experiences there, but everytime I have gone there or called, it's been hell and horrible customer service except for the 2 people I mentioned.
