I wish I had a good place for alterations to recommend but I'm still looking for a good place to get some suits altered.

Sorry to hear that!! I have to say, that in my experience I have found the most attitude when you go to bridal salons. I don't know what it is.
I don't know where you live, but there is a French cleaner in Hauppauge that deals with only bridal dresses. I went in one day to ask about preserving a dress. The place has been there for years. It is on 347 in the King Kullen shopping center. Across the street from friendly's and Bolder Creek. I am not sure about how they are, but I guess it is worth talking to them. Maybe they can give your recommendations.
