finally going to see RHs!

finally going to see RHs!

I am finally coming home to LI in a few weeks to book a date and RH! We decided we want to look at:

Old Field Club
George Washington Manor
Stewart Manor Country Club
Captain Bills Bayview House

I would love some more suggestions from you girls for other places to look at. We are looking to have it somewhere with only one wedding at a time, lots of hardwoods and vaulted ceilings, nothing too over the top. Preferably 160 pp or less (including tax/grat) for a Saturday anywhere from May-Sept.

Any other suggestions? TIA girls, you are the best!

Have fun!! I LOVE the Old Field Club (although I'm biased )!! If you have any questions about it feel free to FM me.

George Washington Manor is beautiful as well, but they have various rooms there, so even if you are the only wedding that day, there may be other events going on too. We had my sister's bridal shower there in one of the smaller rooms and loved it there!!!

I also recommend the Milleridge Cottage. It was our second choice RH, and has a somewhat similar feel to OFC. It definitely is bigger than OFC and is beautiful!

I also love the look of The Royalton and The Carltun, although I believe they are a bit pricier so FH and I didn't go look at them in person.

I am booked at the Harbor Club in Huntington...

It depends on what you are feeling....

Also.. if you like mansions there are TONS of great ones! :)

Happy planning!

I ould def say the Riviera in Massapequa (yea, I'm biased) lol but w/ the ceilings they have there, it's on the water, one wedding at a time and 160 people fits perfectly in there

This was the place my parents were originally going to get married at, over 30 years ago! They ended up not doing it there, but my dad has a soft spot for it, so I will check it out. Thanks!

Thanks! I love the OFC from the pics online. We had my prom at the Milleridge Cottage, so I kind of crossed it off for that reason even though I love it there too.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone! I will definitely look into them!

Re: finally going to see RHs!

I booked The Bayview House at Captain Bills.

We looked at maybe 15-20 RH's! This just seemed to be the best fit. We've eaten dinner there a bunch of times since we have booked. The food is amazing! It's definitely different than any other place. They were really the softest sell, and not pushy at all! Simple and elegant.

I would also check out Villa Lombardis (in Holbrook), and Villa Lombardi's on the Sound (in Port Jeff). Been to weddings at those places and loved it! Harbor Club in Huntington is nice! Floral Terrace is good too (used to be an old movie theater I think).

If you have any other questions, feel free to FM me!

Giorgios has several of the features you're looking for- just not sure about the new prices since I booked before all of the new additions started...

Re: finally going to see RHs!

It sounds like you're looking for the sames kinds of things we were. In the end we went with CHCC because we loved it and got a great deal, even though it hadn't been high up on the original list.

I would suggest the Metropolitan...big wood floor and high ceilings. We unfortunately had a bad experience with the BM that showed us around so maybe try to meet with someone other than Eileen. I think everything else we looked at with one wedding at a time has already been mentioned.

Good luck!

Thanks! We did contact the metropolitan but had to cross it off since they do not have an elevator between the two floors and my aunt is in a wheelchair and wouldn't be able to get around very well

Have you looked at the Sandcastle?

Re: finally going to see RHs!

I have a slightly bias opinion but The Hamlet Golf and Country Club is gorgeous.
Definitely in your price range and they can accomodate a large number of people as well as a smaller group.
A lot is included in their package and the look I think is the style you're looking for. Check out my album for the pics from their website.

Goodluck!

2010er crashing...

you may want to check out some of the wineries out east. they all have hardwood flooring and vaulted ceilings, as well as an understated beauty.

Try Land's end in sayville. Maybe they'll negotiate price w you.

Re: finally going to see RHs!

Try North Ritz Club or Thatched Cottage. They were both at about $115pp w/ tax and grat in November, so i can't imagine it's more than $45more pp just b/c you want September.
