finally got marriage license...

so if you recall, we were rejected becuase brookhaven town didn't like FH's polish birth certificate translation... (they rejected the notarized translation done in brooklyn, and made us get a new notarized translation from their list of notaries.... totally not a legit request, but what can you do?)

at any rate, we paid $55 for a new translation, and showed up today. We now have the marriage license.... BUT my mother's name is spelled wrong

why? well, the church who wrote up my baptismal certificate accidentally omitted the last letter of her (admittedly very ethnic) first name... and brookhaven refused to tack the last letter on w/o another doc with the name spelled correctly!


I frankly don't care anymore. I'm sooo not going to attempt to correct it. I'll just have her as my witness, so her name is written correctly at the bottom of the form At least we don't have to return to that pustule of a town hall again....

I remember how frustrated you were with your first attempt to get your marriage license, sorry to hear there was another error, but I am so glad you finally got it this time. Yay!!
