from the car accident that we were in last year... I expected more money especially since I have had back problems not to mention being scared of driving... anyways, I guess my suffering doesnt qualify for more on the positive side, the money will help with the wedding planning... also, what is a good way to invest it? open up IRA or something? suggestions welcomed
oh aga....i completely understand.... FH and i got into an accident in january of this year....no settlement yet, but sounds similar to you, i have perm. back damage, and i was terrified of driving....didnt start till May again...and i wasnt even the driver in the accident, just a passenger... but I hope mine settles b4 the wedding, i could really use it. Best of luck!
good luck to you as well, it sucks... we had an accident like 3 months after we bought our brand new car... we were driving home in the middle of the night and what do you know, no cars, no traffic and some guy ran a red light I just wonder how these people get their licenses?
ppl are really stupid...ours happened on our way home from fortunoff....so on the northern state....it was a 7 car chain accident, we were vehicle #6, and do u believe cars 1-5 all drove away and left fh and me there, and the only other car that stayed was car #7 for smacking us? cops were able to get them to pull over on the next exit, but fh and i were the only ones taken to the hospital that night. and had the most damage. so having to replace the car after that totally killed our wedding fund...
uff...how long in total did it take for u settlement? I'm hoping at the one year mark next month I'll start to hear some progress....

you could invest in a money market - that's what I have a bunch of my money in...
Good luck w/ the rest of your holiday preparations

we had an accident on October 18, 2003, so a little over 1 year (I guess it is not that bad)... my lawyer told me that if we went to court it would probably take about 2 more years, a lot more expenses and it doesnt guarantee you even the maximum amount I just wanted to settle it and try to forget about it as much as I can... we are stuck with a 1 year old car that was fixed by our insurance for about 10,000 dollars (they insisted on fixing it because it was cheaper )

thanx for the info aga....yea insurance companies are nuts...the only reason they fixed urs is bc its new, cuz otherwise they have to give u a bigger pay out for it, where in our case to fix it would cost more then the car was valued for at that point...insane! but hey at least we can both say we're alive and well and can tell the story right?
