Finally I solved my dark undereye problem!!!

I finally got rid of my problem area: my dark bags under my eyes. I got restyline injected under my eyes. I am so happy with the results!!! My entire face looks so much better because not only did them inject to fill in the hollowness under my eyes, but they injected just a bit on the sides. Holy moly!! Huge difference!!! My mom and my grandma could not believe it!!! I highly recommend it.

I use Dr. Wexler's office (that cosmetic derm. in NYC who is on Oprah, etc.). I use her associate Dr. Howe who literally is the nicest doctor ever. My mom and I have been addicted to him since about 8 months before the wedding. He even sent me a card for my wedding!!

There is a solution girls!!!

They numbed the area so you don't feel it with a numbing cream. It feels a little swollen/sensitive now. But it definitely doesn't hurt. I am not sure how much you consider expensive. As Joan Rivers says, 'I would rather have a new face coming out of an old car than an old face coming out of a new car!' I love that saying!!

They do restilyne injections at the Skin Klinic in NYC and start at $600 a pop. I have only been there for Refinity facials, but they are pretty good. Skin Klinic

FH has dark circles under his eyes and hates the way they make him look. How much did this cost? Do you have to go for multiple treatments?

Three days later and I am so in love with how they look. Very worth the money. Everyone's body absorbs the restyline differently. It will probably last 3-4 months. They charge per syringe so if you have left over, they will save it for the next time and only charge you an injection fee. However, I used over half of the first syringe this time.

Wow that's great to know. I've only been able to temporarily solve my dark undereye problem once with a cream... and then it came back. But the cream didn't work again so it's good to know there's something else out there!

what else does restyline help with - is it just for dark circles? Can it help my Mom with the sagging skin around her eyes?

Is it more to fill in a hollow area or more to change the color of the area? I don't really have a hollow look, just darkness. And if my dark circles are due to anemia, will it work? I guess I have to google this restyline stuff!!!!

Re: Finally I solved my dark undereye problem!!!

we inject Restylane here at work....

Restylane is a cosmetic filler, somewhat similar to Botox. If you have only a discoloration of the skin under your eyes - Restylane will not alter the color of your skin. There is a bleaching cream you can use to help with with that discoloration.

I notice this is an older post, thought I would pass that info on since the original poster may not be around.

Re: Finally I solved my dark undereye problem!!!

Funny this post appeared again because I just got the injections again on Friday. I definitely love them but it is expensive ($850 a syringe). At first, I thought maybe it was too much to spend. But after I saw the results again, I was very happy I had it done. In fact, the day before the injections, a stranger commented that I looked tired.

It is not similar to Botox from my understanding. Botox is not a filler.

I know some of you asked about specific problems, but I am not a dermatologist so I really don't know. I can answer that it is not for dark circles. It fills in hollowness. Dark circles can be caused by the veins under your eyes, so bleaching cream won't be effective. Using an eye cream may improve the quality of the skin, so it may not bother you as much as before.

your right, that is why I said somewhat similar - but it gives someone a frame of reference who may not know too much about what Restylane is - since Botox is more popular.

if the circles are caused by veins, then bleaching cream will not work. In my case, and most of our patients - it is a pigment issue and the cream will work.

Regarding facial hollowing or lipoatrophy - we also inject Sculptra for patients with more severe cases.
