Finally posting my vendor reviews!

This will be long, so I'll have to post in a few entries:

Alexis Limos – A++++++++++

Fantastic! They were right on time and very professional and friendly. One minor goof – the champagne that was supposed to be in the Rolls for Frank & me ended up in the guys’ limo. Other than that, they were great!

Beautiful Beginnings Cosmetics – A++++++++++++++++++++

Patti was a joy to work with. She did a much better job than I had hoped for. She also did the makeup for my mom, and it came out gorgeous. Sweet lady, too. The makeup stayed on all day, even after I’d bawled all the way down the aisle in church and all through the ceremony. Great job!

Bonaventure Tuxedos Garden City – B++++++++++++++++

They did great up until the day before the wedding. I don’t know the whole story because I wasn’t there, but one of the groomsmen didn’t have a tux ready for him that day. The owner was able to fix things, but only after some ba** busting.

Chateau Briand – A+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I can’t say enough about this place. Everyone was incredibly friendly and courteous, and from what I’d heard, the food was outstanding and plentiful, and the staff was bending over backwards for all of the guests. My glass was never empty, and the maitre d’ was fantastic. My only complaint was that the bridal attendants were not around much, but other than that it was phenomenal.

David’s Bridal Carle Place – bridesmaid dresses – D-

I can’t stand this place. Although the dresses all came out fine, they were the nastiest people to work with. Long story short, I ended up filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

Garden City Hotel – wedding night hotel – B-

When we checked into the hotel at 1:30 am, both of us still in our wedding clothes, they gave us a room with DOUBLE BEDS!! Fortuntately, dh talked to the manager, and we were moved to a room with a king sized bed. The new room was beautiful, and we ordered room service the next day, which was very nice. Overall, it was just okay.

Hengstenberg’s Florist Garden City – A+++++++++++++++++++++++++++

This was one of my favorite vendors. I worked with Tula, and she did a phenomenal job. All of the flowers came out perfect – white roses & stephanotis for me and pink roses with blue delphinia for the girls. I had a relatively small budget, and she worked within it and did a wonderful job. She was extremely professional and friendly, too. I highly recommend them.

La Mont Gallery of Photography – A+++++++++++++++

I got the proofs back last week and they’re great! A few of them came out a little out of focus, but most of them were perfect. Ron was great to work with, and he got so many fantastic candids at the reception. They also did the video, and I watched the raw footage last weekend. That came out great, too, although there were a couple of glitches. Overall, I was very pleased with the quality of the work, especially since the price was so reasonable.

Music Unlimited DJ Bethpage – C

I used this dj because they did my mom’s wedding several years ago, and did a superb, flawless job. I worked with someone else this time, and was extremely disappointed. On the one hand, they got everyone out on the dance floor, and they all seemed to have a great time, however, they basically ignored my playlist and had some technical difficulties. Overall, I’d say they get an A for motivating people to dance without being pushy, but an F for organization and for mistakes with their equipment.

Perfect Wedding Planner - A++++++++++++

Chateau Briand’s house florist did the centerpieces and they were beautiful, and not too expensive. Chris was also a doll to work with.

Princess Wedding Invitations.com – A+++++

I found invitations I liked in a stationery store then found them on this website for about a third of the price. They came out beautiful, and the customer service was great. There was a typo on my original set, and they replaced it for me at no extra cost.

RK Bridal for gown & veil – B+++

For my gown, they deserve an A++++++++, but they screwed up my veil order, so I can’t give them a full A++++++++. Overall, I was very pleased, but I would have ordered my veil elsewhere.

Royal Brass for bagpiper – A+++++

Excellent! It was a nice surprise for most people, and the guy did a great job. Very well recommended

Seventh Street Café for rehearsal dinner – A+++++++++++++++

We had a really nice private room, and the food and service was fantastic. Highly recommended.

Congrats!! We used Alexis as well and had the Rolls, was your driver Gloria? We had our reception at CB too, people are still raving, was Angel your maitre d? Thats so odd about the attendants though, We had Jackie and April and they were stuck to us like glue.

At CB we had Justin as our Maitre d', and he was fantastic. Originally we were supposed to have Angel, so I'm not sure why we had Justin, but he was really great, so I can't complain. We had the wedding over a holiday weekend (Labor Day weekend) so I'm thinking our bridal attendants were doubling as waitresses, which is why I never saw them. The only time not having a bridal attendant bothered me was when someone needed to get into the bridal suite, and I had to have a waiter find Justin to find the bridal attendant to let the person in. Other than that, I was either running around or dancing, so I didn't really need to have the bridal attendant around. Like I said, CB was so fantastic, I really can't complain much.
