financial tip!

hey girls wanted to pass along something i discovered today!

Now, I heard that if you call your credit card company and ask for a lower rate they will give it to you - so i do that about every six months and they keep lowering your rate - it is easy just say 'can you please lower my rate' LOL

BUT this is even better - i have about 20 credit cards that i opened up and never ever used so i went through all of them today and canceled all of them except for two ( one to use and one for emergencies)

so each time i tried to cancel - they offered AMAZING deals!
Discover offered my a gas card, one company offered me a $20 credit and one offered me 0% for a year! I did not take them up on these offers bc i really just want to simplify and get rid of them all but thought i would pass this on!

I call my CC company every two months and they lower my rate. My other card couldn't do it so I cancel them.
they usually ask what rate are you getting from other cards and they didn't believe me when I told them.

I recently cancelled a lot of cards too. It improved my credit rating! They all tried to keep me but I refused. If I dont use it, whats they purpose of having it? They just weigh your bag down!

i do this all the time. i only use 1 major credit card (excluding victoria secret) for everything. If i get annyed and they wont do the right thing i switch to another. but ive had pretty good luck with one that I always use (i stop using it when they dont lower my rate and use another for a while, they get the hint). I have excellent credit .. but i need to tell them to stop uping my credit limit.. its out of hand!
