finding a hall woes

Im really disappointed ....well FH and I have been looking for halls and we have narrowed it down to: Jericho Terrace I liked the place but I don't love it although i've heard the food is really good and that's what we care about as well. On the other hand FH doesn't really like the fact that he thinks the actual entrance and lobby is over decorated. We were also looking to have our reception at a place that has beautiful grounds to take photos. So this is what we are looking at: Beautiful Grounds and Great food!!!. FH doesn't like the Fox Hollow he hates the long dance floor so that's a NO...Jericho Terrace we like but no outside really just a little fountain :(. We are looking at the Swan Club tonight and Chateau La Mer on friday . If anyone has been to either places for a wedding please comment on food and grounds. And if possible compared between Jericho, Chateau La Mer and Swan club where will you recommend??? PLEASE HELP ME this is getting to me and i am soo frustrated :( take care

My Fh had the same opinions as yours. He felt that a lot of places were just over-decorated and looked too 'Italian' (the funny part is we are both italian!) We booked Fox Hollow b/c he thought it was beautiful yet cozy, however I am in the smaller room. My mother hated the dance floor in the bigger room for the same reason. However, I have heard from many girls that it fills quick. Just think of 250 people dancing on that floor.

I hear Swan Club has gorgeous grounds.

I would do a search for CLM and SC to see some reviews and pictures.

Haven't been to any of these, but just wanted to say when you find the 'one' you'll know. Just keep looking, you'll be thankful in the end that you did.

I'm biased but i love love love the Swan Club. The CLM is also beautiful . Both places are awesome but just have different feels. I hope you find your RH soon!! Good luck!

FH and I are getting married at Swan Club. Swan was the first place we went to when they were having a showcase. After walking around the grounds, FH turned to me and said 'this is it' and I told him to calm down and lets look around. he loved the food and just everything about it. After that we looked at Jericho Terrace, Smithtown Landing, Carltun on the sound, Fox Hollow. We had been to a wedding at Carlyle on the Green and Miller Place Inn, in the past few years. We fell in love with the Swan Club gardens and just the overall atmosphere.

im getting married at CLM . I have gone to a wedding there before and everything was great. You can also go to a free food tasting before you book. If you have any questions FM me

We looked at the Swan Club and Chateau La Mer. They were both very nice. The grounds of the SC were BEAUTIFUL. What made us choose Jericho Terrace over these two, was the weather factor. If you choose a place based on their outdoor grounds, you might be dissapointed if it rains and you cant make use of the outdoors.

Have you checked Westbury Manor? I have heard good things about their food and their gardens

Have you thought about looking elsewhere besides those halls? I would take my time and really search, don't feel like you are in a rush.. believe me, you will know when the right reception hall is for you!

Why don't you check out North Ritz Club. The grounds are what did it for me there. It has plenty of photo opps.

I think you should keep looking. You will find something you both love and you'll know it. Make sure that you read reviews but also try the place out yourself (food tasting) Ive never been to Swan Club or CLM but they both seem wonderful from there website. They were too small to hold the number of guests I need (300). I have heard from people on this site about how great both places are though. Try not to stress too much, you'll find the place and be happy once you find it
