finding out the sex?
How many of you wanted to know what your baby will be (or is) and how many didn't?

Re: finding out the sex?
Both had to be a surprise. There are so few true surprises in life we needed the sex of both children to be one. We also didnt like the idea of calling the baby by its name before it came. Thats just our preference though.

We aren't going to find out either. I want it to be a surprise! I have my 20 week ultrasound in 2 weeks. I am going to remain strong!

Re: finding out the sex?
We didn't find out. I kind of wanted to know but DH was against it - so since I didn't have strong feelings either way - we decided to be surprised. It was fun trying to guess at my 21 week u/s. I figure how many times in your life can you truly be surprised?

Re: finding out the sex?
We did not find out and I am so happy we didn't. It was so much fun in the last couple of weeks not knowing what we were going to be blessed with. And when they held her up and said it's a girl it was such a special, touching moment in our lives.

Not even TTC here, but we've talked about it and we're in the same boat. AliKing, what are some of your tactics going to be????

Re: finding out the sex?
we didn't want to find out. When the doctor pulled the baby out and said 'it's a girl' was the most memorable moment in me and DH's life. Then hubby was sooo excited to go out to the lobby and tell everyone the big news.

I am not sure what to do yet... I have my Level 2 on December 2nd, which I just found out from my other post, is when they can determine the sex of the baby...
What DaniRN just said is exactly the feeling I want to have... The anticipation and the excitement, waiting to hear 'its a boy' or 'its a girl' I just think that is one of those feelings I dont want to miss out on...

Re: finding out the sex?
thanks ladies! My DH and I are just in the very beginning stages of TTC and we both don't want to find out but every time the subject of finding out a baby's sex comes up around my mother, she insists she has to know and that I am being selfish for not finding out and telling everyone! Grrrrrr!

Re: finding out the sex?
I didn't want to find out and DH did until my friend's husband told him that the absolute best moment of his life was when in the delivery room the doctor told him 'It's a boy!' He said that hte can't explain why, just that it was such an amazing feeling. Now DH is very comfortable with our decision not to find out.

We didn't want to know. There are very few surprises and life and we wanted this to be one of them. I think its very exciting when you call everyone to announce what you had.JMO

Re: finding out the sex?
I can wait, I think, but DH is just so impatient.....we're not sure what we'll do. I kind of like the idea of planning ahead and talking to the baby and calling it by it's name.

Re: finding out the sex?
Personally I think it will be enough of surprise when a little person comes out of my body! For me, know the gender isn't going to take any of the magic away from that moment.Welcome New Vendors
