Finding the dress....on a budget!

Hi Ladies,

Does anyone have ideas about how to find great bargains on your bridal gown? A friend of mine found a dress at Davids Bridal last year, bought it off the rack, and therefore it was HIGHLY discounted. I can't remember the actual cost of her dress but out of pocket she paid under $500 with alterations. This is the kind of budget I want to work with too :) I know its a bit drastic but I'm going to give it a try to start. I'm going to to try searching sample dresses at Davids Bridal also. Any other places or ideas I should try??

buy one used! If i find a dress I really love and can find it in my size already hemmed (I'm 5'0) I would do that in a heartbeat!

Have you checked the NY Bridal Outlet in Farmingdale? They have dresses you can buy off the rack dresses available (not sure about pricing).

Most likely (preownedweddingdresses.com). You would get measured and try on the dresses in a store and then look for it on there. I know one bride on here did that and said it came in perfectly (I can't remember her name!).

I almost went to VOWS in Massachusetts (they have a show on TLC called 'I found the gown') and they are highly discounted. They have a website and you can see what they have in stock!

OH that's great too. To see what they have in stock is huge and nearly impossible to find so far. May be worth a weekend trip :)

NY Bridal Outlet and Boutique in farmingdale next to Adventureland. They have a lot of racks of Designer Samples at ridiculously affordable prices. My gown was orig a couple of thousand and I got it for $500
