Fine China

Fine China

So I registered for fine china since both my Mom & MIL said “every bride registers for it”. I registered for 12 settings & received 5. So now what. I got some gift certificates but not enough to buy what’s left. Do I return for cash? But I really like my pattern. Do I just use what I have? What are the chances of having just 5 people coming over for the holidays

Anybody else in this predicament

I think it depends on where you are registered. I think most places give you a year to finish purchasing off your registry....

How about using your gift certificates to buy 3 more place settings, that way you will have 8.

Or you can recommend to your family around the holidays to buy you another piece or two from your China instead of a holiday present.

You can use GC and you can always receive them as gifts.

Family will give you settings for xmas, or any holiday. just remind them that your set it not complete. It took my cousin almost 2 yrs to get her entire set. She had so many place settings, and all the other cr@p that went along with it.

keep an eye out for sales, and spread word that you'd love to receive more of your china for holidays, etc.

most patterns should not be discontinued, and if they are you can snatch them up cheap

What company makes your pattern?

You can always check the outlets if it is Lennox or Mikasa. Plus, as other girls mentioned already, you can always ask family to get you a place setting as a gift for your birthday/holiday.

Buy yourself a place setting for your anniversary or birthday each year for a few years.

As long as the pattern does not get discontinued, you can buy the rest of your settings over time. It doesn't have to be right away
